Why
Choose Homeopathy to Treat Depression?
Deep, Long-lasting Change Without Drugs
As you will see from the actual cases of real patients in this book,
homeopathy produces startlingly positive results in people with psychiatric
problems—and many other health problems as well. The right homeopathic
medicine stimulates a process of healing that can literally transform
a person’s life. People who have been depressed for a long time—perhaps
even their entire lives—can find renewed hope and develop brighter
spirits, more energy, and improved physical health. Anxious people
find themselves calmer and less worried, their panic relieved. Schizophrenic
patients find new order and coherence in their thinking process as
delusions and voices recede. The homeopathic process heals the subconscious
as well as the conscious mind. Traumatic memories may resurface spontaneously
in thoughts, feelings, and dreams that lead to resolution and release
of psychological pain. Old hurts, griefs, anxieties, injustices, jealousies,
and obsessions can be put in their proper perspective and released.
The cases presented in this book are of people who have done very
well after homeopathic treatment for a wide variety of mental and
emotional complaints including grief, depression, low self-esteem,
anxiety, phobias and panic attacks, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia,
dissociative identity disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Although individual case studies do not necessarily prove the effectiveness
of treatment, you may find them nonetheless compelling and convincing.
Many of our patients certainly feel that they have been helped considerably
by their homeopathic treatment.
A Highly Effective Type of Medicine
How well does homeopathy work for depression? Homeopathy is an effective
treatment for depression for most people. As we have become more experienced
in the practice of homeopathy, we have found that the limits on success
are more practical than theoretical. Homeopathic effectiveness is
most limited by the skill, knowledge, and experience of the homeopath
and the cooperation of the patient. The theory works, but it must
be applied well and for a long enough time to produce results.
We are able to help a significant number of those who see us, and
the results are very gratifying. Often we are able to find the correct
medicine after the first interview, but it sometimes takes a number
of prescriptions to find the one that works best. In most cases, if
both the homeopath and the patient can persevere for six months to
a year, a homeopathic medicine will be found that is highly effective.
Unfortunately, homeopathy cannot help everyone. There are too many
variables involved to promise universal cure, especially with complex
psychological disorders. No form of medicine can guarantee that. In
addition to the homeopath’s skill and experience, you as a patient
also play a big role in the homeopathic process by reporting your
symptoms accurately and completely, and by following certain guidelines
for treatment. (Ullman and Reichenberg-Ullman, 57–63)
