Liz’s
mom observed a significant improvement in her daughter’s self-esteem.
Confidence and coordination had skyrocketed. She was getting along
much better with her father. The restlessness was much less, as
was her poutiness. Liz was more able to listen and be tolerant of
those around her. She had not covered her ears even once since taking
the Belladonna. The nakedness persisted, however. Her vulvar
sensitivity was beginning to ease. “Liz is happier and more settled.
She’s even more able to joke. And to be in rooms by herself.”
Another dose of the Belladonna was indicated two and a
half months later when she had a partial relapse following her parents’
divorce. When we spoke with her mother four months later, she felt
that, overall, Liz was doing “fabulously.” Liz now kept her clothes
on, was free of tantrums, and excelled academically. Although just
entering the fourth grade, she had tested at a seventh-grade reading
level. “Exceptionally bright” is how the teachers described her.
Far more focused, Liz could now sit down and do homework on her
own. The increase in cooperation and confidence persisted. A 95
percent improvement was her mother’s estimate. “Overall, I’m delighted
with the transformation in my daughter,” she told us excitedly.
The only area that still needs improvement is a few fears that have
surfaced. She’s so afraid of needles that she won’t even consider
going to the dentist. Scary rides, movies, and books also drive
her up the wall. She wouldn’t think of picking up a Goosebumps.
She insisted on sleeping in her mother’s bed every night because
her dreams frightened her so much.
Although we typically find that a child needs only one homeopathic
medicine over a period of years, sometimes a subsequent medicine
is indicated. In this case, Liz’s new fears fit Calcarea carbonica
(calcium carbonate), a medicine complementary to Belladonna.
This second medicine worked very well. The needle fear subsided.
She was now able to sleep alone, which her mother considered a major
change. In other ways, she continued to do very well.
Liz has needed one more dose of the Calcarea carbonica.
In the thirteen months since we began treating her, she has improved
in just about every area. She’s a real joy.
